hello and welcome to my apartment this is my three bedroom apartment that i share with two roommates in lower manhattan here in beautiful new york city and i've lived here for now a year and a half and i just have not done an apartment tour until now so we're making it happen welcome to my space this is the living room as you can probably tell there's only like one little sliver a window so it's kind of like a cave in here which is nice in winter because it feels incredibly cozy but during the summer it does feel a little dark but we go with it so we have this lovely red couch from burrow it's super comfortable love it most of these pillows are also from burrow this blankets from west elm a lot of the art is from society6 this thing over here is a fan it's super bizarre but it does a great job it looks like a weird eyeball we got an espresso machine coffee grinder nespresso maker over here so clearly we love coffee here i think this little thing is super cute to like put produce in just got that off etsy found this little stone on the side of the road sanitized it got it for free it's great a friend often will like sit here while somebody's cooking so we have a little dining room table here again we've got some books just some fun little pieces from different like travel and trips and whatnot um i veg out on this couch a ton of the time definitely felt like this was really large for what i'm used to in new york this island has come in clutch for cooking i feel like a lot of people have like this much counter space to cook their meals so it's been really nice to have this to cook to hang out and have like some friends who will sit there there's lots of great storage this little spice shelf i got from urban a while ago i'm propagating some little plants over here and then up here you can see we have a bunch of books we all love to read here and so you'll find books just kind of crammed everywhere throughout the apartment we have a dishwasher which by new york standards is a luxury this is not a luxury building it's a very old building but to have a dishwasher visit god center new york and i'm very grateful and then yeah there's just really good storage here and beneath this section here it is a rarity over here we got this cute little like breakfast nook dinner situation my roommate bought this desk and then we got the velvet chairs from walmart fancy i know and we got this little bonsai on the side of the street he's not i think doing very well lifewise but at the very least he looks cute dry and i think he's precious we got this lovely shelf on the side of the street which is a common occurrence also in europe so much furniture to be found on the side of street um there's a instagram account called stooping new york city which i highly recommend photos of things that people find in the side of the street but it's like epic items so not weird here might be weird where you're from but to pick up stuff on the side of the street it's pretty standard more books and little bits and bobs that we love this light is really nice for when it is winter feels quite warm and kind of like emulates the sun which is good got one of these little roomba vacuum things which are super helpful this projector we like to put movies right here that's why it's blank and then watch it from the couch just got a nice little pothos plant but they're super easy to keep alive now we have a storage closet just kind of keep all my like winter coats in here luggage random junk it's not fancy it's fine snake plants are also easy to keep alive we have a couple of them kind of scattered throughout just have this little shelf moment here just for some other little pieces just to kind of make the space feel a little bit more decorated and then here is the hallway that kind of connects all of our different rooms so we have my room my roommate maxine's room and then natalie's room here so welcome to my room so welcome to my room i did do a room tour a while ago if you want to check it out but i'm also currently in the process of doing a baby makeover so some things have changed and a full room makeover will be coming soon i got my dresser here from target i picked this up from offer up is a great kind of like secondhand website where you can find a lot of cool furniture so i love that mirror got my 100k plaque comment like subscribe please stick around my little plant guy is a little funky but i'm still figuring out what to do with it um and my closet pretty much this is like everything i own in my life it's all in this little closet because this apartment still is small and then my bed everyone always asks about my bed frame i got off amazon which is not particularly exciting i got a bunch of art from society6 i always keep whatever i'm reading at the moment right next to my bed and at the moment i'm reading probably too many books at once i also strung these funky lighting behind my headboard frame and i'm honestly such a fan and then over here i got this little ladder situation from urban a while ago and again i'm just kind of like slowly starting to decorate it with more fun pieces and then this plant is truly my baby i've like grown her over the last year and a half and she's just made great progress i recently got this desk from facebook marketplace which is a great place if you want to save money on furniture as well it's just like secondhand furniture my comforter is from buffy um still trying to get some more pillows store basically all my clothes are in this dresser in this closet i have my mirror here as well as some artwork that i haven't decided where to either hang or if i should just let it kind of chill there moving on this artwork as well is from society6 they are just sprinkled throughout the apartment this is my roommate maxine's room and her room is basically the identical size to me so we pay the same amount i'm not going to go too much in the details of her room but you can kind of see how she used the space slightly differently um with the same amount of space so she has like a slightly smaller dresser her bed's a little bit smaller but then she has a lot of open space where i know she's going to get some new plants she was gone for months during quarantine so she's back she's going to get some more plants i love her like style when it comes to artwork and then like has her little desk set up and her little um bookshelf as well which i was inspired by and her closet's a similar size and then the third bedroom here is natalie's this one's definitely smaller so she pays a couple hundred dollars less doesn't get as much natural light as our two rooms do but again it's still pretty sizable she has a big bed has space for a desk she's a really big dresser so she doesn't have a closet in her room but then this closet she uses which is pretty spacious as well my first apartment in new york i did not have a closet so even having a closet in the hallway you know not too bad finally welcome to the bathroom it's perfect little size we make do there's like a little medicine cabinet in here you may have seen in some of my vlogs so if you've watched my old videos and a bunch of items sprinkled throughout it's not a very exciting shower it's pretty standard but you know it works all right i hope you enjoyed my little apartment tour here in new york based i feel like it definitely feels like home and my roommates are great it is a three bedroom in lower manhattan area which is definitely like my favorite area to hang out like i love like the east village and the west village greenwich lowry side soho et cetera so i spend most of my time so i like living in this general vicinity my roommate and i with the big rooms spent 18.50 and then my third roommate pays 14.50 because her room is smaller and she doesn't get natural light like we do as much i know it's kind of weird sharing rent but i know when i was trying to move here and learn more about new york it was really helpful when people told me how much they actually like paid for where they live you can definitely find cheaper spaces by living in brooklyn or living in a smaller apartment i know anytime anybody talks about rent in new york there's always somebody from like ohio who's like i have a three bedroom house and i pay like 800 a month or whatever the case is new york you're not just paying for your actual physical apartment you're paying to live in the city you're paying for the culture you're paying for access to opportunities at a place like new york city provides getting to walk outdoors having some of the best food like right below your apartment getting to go and experience just the energy and the creativity and all the great things that new york has to offer so it's expensive for sure but it's expensive for a reason this is a pretty old building we live in there is an elevator and there is laundry in the basement pretty sure the basement's haunted it is the scariest basement i've ever been in i have to pay to do the laundry but that in itself is very nice because of my old apartment i had to walk to a laundromat and wait and do my laundry wears here i go down there and do my laundry then run upstairs which is really nice we found this apartment on street easy i believe if you're looking definitely been a great spot for me i am planning on making a little series of sorts so stay tuned where i want to go around and basically interview different friends that live here in new york kind of show off their space their style how they decorate how they make use of a small space because some people's apartments are like super tiny and then they get very strategic with how they like store their items and their clothes and whatnot as well as talking a little bit about the neighborhood they live in because that was definitely a question when i moved here i was like i don't know where to live and i basically just didn't know what i was doing so it had been so helpful to have people kind of like walk through the different neighborhoods of new york that you might want to live in and kind of like their characteristics what they're known for the different things in like kind of overall vibe so if you want to see some more in new york city apartments more videos will be coming soon so stay tuned as usual i hope you enjoyed this video if you did it would be really great if you could like and subscribe that mean a lot to me and as usual love you guys so much
